Future Physician Assistant Trains at Sabine County Hospital

Hemphill, Texas (July 25, 2019) – Alexa Wingo’s career path as a physician assistant (PA) may take a left turn to West Texas as a result of her clinical rotation at Sabine County Hospital and Toledo Bend Family Medicine. UTMB Medical Student Now Training at Sabine County Hospital

Hemphill, Texas (July 25, 2019) – Marrying her interest in helping others with her love of science, Desire’ Guillory has set her heart on being a pediatrician in an underserved area. Now a medical student at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine (UTMB), Galveston, she is well on her way to achieving her goal. “Medicine allows me to take care of, work with, and talk to different people daily,” explained Guillory. “There’s never a day that I don’t learn something new about medicine and patient care from working in a clinic or hospital, and from the patients themselves.”

Sabine County Hospital “Connects” with Emergency Medicine Specialists

Hemphill, Texas (June 26, 2019) – Sabine County Hospital (SCH) is scheduled to “go live” on June 27th with a new telemedicine program that will bring emergency medicine specialists and critical care nurses into the emergency department whenever needed. The emergency department at SCH is equipped to handle any patient that comes through its doors. However, in critical situations – such as stroke, heart attack, trauma or serious injury where every second counts – telemedicine will allow emergency medicine specialists to work “virtually” side by side with local providers via a network of cameras and monitors installed in the trauma room.

Sabine County Hospital Receives Highest Award for Quality Improvement

Hemphill, Texas (February 20, 2019) – Sabine County Hospital was recognized last week with the 2018 TMF Gold Award for Hospital Quality Improvement.
