New Chief Nursing Officer Appointed at Sabine County Hospital

Hemphill, Texas – 09/13/2023 – Sabine County Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of LaDuska “Dusty” James as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

James, originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has previously worked as a Paramedic and Flight Nurse with Life Air Rescue, SEXT Air Rescue, and Memorial Hermann Life Flight. Her nursing background includes ER and ICU roles at LSU and WK out of Shreveport, as well as managerial positions at Houston Methodist.  She holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling with a focus on Crisis Response and Trauma from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Northwestern State University.

Expressing her enthusiasm for her new position at Sabine County Hospital, she says “I am so thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working closely with the amazing team here. I plan to meet one-on-one with everyone in the coming weeks to better understand how we can collectively contribute to the hospital’s success.”

Kaylee McDaniel, the Administrator at Sabine County Hospital, said, “We are incredibly excited to welcome Dusty to our team. Her extensive experience and dedication to quality patient care make her an invaluable asset to our hospital and community.”

“Dusty’s diverse experience in healthcare, from smaller critical care access hospitals to larger healthcare systems, equips her with the skills and knowledge necessary for her role as CNO,” McDaniel added.

Dusty says she is committed to maintaining the hospital’s standard of practice in exceptional, quality and efficient care.

Outside of her professional life, James enjoys mystery/thriller movies and books, loves to dance, and is always up for an adventure. Her dream vacation destination is Fiji.
